The companions of Prince Edward Chapter 2109 were honoured and delighted to receive Mike Adams to their installation meeting which was held at the Grange Club, Stockport.
Mike was in good company being accompanied by South Eastern Group Vice Chairman Gareth Jones together with acting Provincial grand officers Ezra McGowan and Chris Reeman of Wigan Group and other visiting companions.
Though the turn-out was small the ceremony was carried out in a well-practised manner with DC Peter Ryan smoothly addressing and re-obligating each of the three elected principals.
The installation of the principals saw Brian Taylor being re-installed as first principal, Bryan Lees as second principal and Colin Ellis as third principal.
Mike gave an excellent address to the companions of the chapter and on completion of the ceremony, stood to bring greetings and good wishes for a prosperous and healthy year from the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison.
Mike said that if Tony had been present he would have witnessed a most interesting installation and on Tony’s behalf, congratulated the work of all those who took part in the evening’s ceremony and thanked those who had taken office in the chapter.
Newly installed first principal, Brian rose and thanked Mike for his very kind words and on behalf of the chapter presented him with a charity envelope and with Brian’s permission, Mike read out the contents which was a cheque for £100 made out to the MCF 2021 Festival.
Mike thanked the members on behalf of all those who would eventually benefit from the chapter’s most generous donation.
At the first rising, Mike conveyed the greetings and good wishes on behalf of the grand officers saying that although the ceremony had been short, being a proclamation, it had been undeniably entertaining and welcomed Brian back into the chair as first principal wishing him and the chapter an enjoyable year.
A friendly festive board continued into the evening where Mike gave an excellent response to his toast and touched on the subjects of The Masonic Charitable Foundation, the age of the chapter (127 years) and how we were to try and raise the profile of the Royal Arch in the Province.
The toasts of the evening having ended thus concluded a most enjoyable meeting.
