The members and visitors of Architect Chapter No 1375 were honoured and delighted to receive Frank Davies, the representative of the Grand Superintendent, to their installation meeting which was held at the Urmston Masonic Hall.
Frank was accompanied by fellow grand chapter officers Brian Hayes and Mike Adams and other distinguished officers of Provincial grand chapter, group officers and visiting companions.
After opening the chapter, first principal David Benson convened the business of the chapter at which point Frank Davies along with the other grand officers entered the convocation to be welcomed very warmly by David.
The installation ceremony then proceeded smoothly with the three principals and being well guided by director of ceremonies Gareth Jones.
Andrew Makin was installed as first principal with Malcolm Jacobs as second principal with Chris Knowles being installed as third principal, there then followed excellent addresses given by Brian Hayes to the first principal, Andrew Makin to the second principle and by Malcolm Jacobs the third Principle.
On completion of the ceremony, Frank rose to bring the greetings and good wishes for a prosperous, healthy and enjoyable year from the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison.
Frank said that if Tony had been present, he would have witnessed a most interesting ceremony of installation and on his behalf, congratulated the director of ceremonies Gareth Jones and all those who played their part in the evening’s ceremony, he also thanked all those who had taken office in the chapter.
First principal Andrew Makin rose and thanked Frank for his very kind words and on behalf of the chapter presented him with a charity envelope which, with Andrew’s permission Frank read out the contents which was a cheque made out to the MCF 2021 Festival for £100. Frank thanked the members, praising the very generous donation given the small size of the chapter and the fact that the members also contributed as Craft members.
At the first rising, Mike Adams conveyed the greetings and good wishes on behalf of the grand officer’s present, saying that it had been an excellently performed ceremony and welcomed Andrew into the chair as the first principal once more and wishing him and the chapter an enjoyable year.
A very friendly and buoyant festive board followed the ceremony and in response to the toast to the grand officers, Frank offered his own congratulations to the companions, made reference to the success of the MCF in the current festival, recommended that we should all promote the Royal Arch as the culmination of the Masonic journey and encourage recruitment and most importantly, that we should all enjoy our Masonry. Frank rounded things off by thanking the chapter for the welcome they had extended to him. The toasts of the evening having ended, a most enjoyable meeting was brought to a close.
